Big changes are coming June 1st!
After six years of meeting at Greenwood Christian Academy, GracePointe Church is moving to a new location in Williamsburg. What is currently known as Wagster's Theater located at 5535 Olde Towne Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188, will become the future home of GracePointe Church. We are excited for this new opportunity to have a more permanent presence in Williamsburg to better serve the communities we so love.
And big changes bring big ideas.
Moving to a new space is an exciting opportunity for growth, fresh beginnings, and creating a space that truly reflects our church's heart for the community. While the new location needs some work—like painting, furnishings, and a bit of remodeling—it gives us the chance to make it our own. With a little creativity and teamwork, we will transform it into a warm, welcoming place for worship and connection.

To focus efforts, we have broken the building into four areas to guide our renovation process, each lead by a team of devoted individuals. If you are feeling passionate about one or more focus areas, reach out to the team lead found in the frequently asked questions.
And big ideas bring big costs.
As we prepare to make this new space our home, there will be financial costs involved with these renovations. To help cover these expenses, we're establishing a special 'Relocation' fund where supporters can give financially to meet the need. Every contribution, big or small, will go directly toward making this space ready for all God has planned. Together, we can turn this blank canvas into something truly beautiful.
For our regular givers, we're asking any funds contributed be above and beyond regular tithe and offering.
And big changes, and big ideas, and big costs... all require BIG prayers!
GracePointe Church wants to be known as a church that prays. As God is leading us in this transition, we want to pray for the leadership of the church, the church body, our past and future landlords, the greater city of Williamsburg, the local neighborhoods we will be moving near, and the long-term mission of GracePointe to reflect God's glory, point our community to His grace, and make disciples of Jesus.

Join our Prayer Team every Friday at noon, as we pray together for the thing's God has in the life of GracePointe.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why are you moving?
A. The Lord has blessed GracePointe with a home at Greenwood Christian Academy since its inception. As GracePointe has grown, its need for space has grown too. We began with weekly meetings on Sundays, but have seen the life and needs of our church grow throughout the weekdays in Nights of Prayer, Student Ministry events, weekly bible study, GracePointe Cares events, counseling, and others. GracePointe also has a desire to become a more permanent fixture in Williamsburg; we felt a building with our logo out front seven-days/week would signal our neighbors we are invested in their community. And as an added bonus, our dedicated volunteers who have come early and left late each Sunday for six years will get a well-earned respite.
Q. Why the current Wagster's Theater?
A. GracePointe's leaders and its Relocation Task Force visited several commercial spaces for lease in the Williamsburg area. One of the key decision criteria was being close to the heart of Williamsburg with our new home. Based on terms, conditions, pricing, and location, the Wagster's Theater was determined to be the best solution for GracePointe.
Q. How can I help?
A. Pray. Give. Serve.
We worship a big God who answers big prayers. As a church we have dedicated a portion of our Sunday Celebration to praying for this transition, we are hosting weekly virtual prayer times, and have continued with our regularly scheduled Nights of Prayer and Prayer Gatherings. GracePointe is a church of prayer, and we want all those invested to pray with us, pray for us, and pray for God's will to be done in Williamsburg.
As we move out of one facility and to another, we need to purchase many items we've been borrowing as part of our current agreement these past six years that we won't be bringing with us e.g., classroom chairs and tables, lobby furniture, TVs, etc. We also need to revitalize the space we're coming into with paint, carpets, and fixtures. Lastly, we have a demo and construction portion of our move that requires outside service professional assistance. These things all take money to accomplish. As a church, we are championing a 'Relocation' giving campaign with a goal of $42,000. Every gift, great or small, helps achieve the overall vision.
If you can roll a brush, assemble furniture, carry big (or little) items, swing a hammer, install an outlet, vacuum, and/or clean carpets, go on food runs, or cheer on others, we can use your help! There are lots of little things and few real big things that need to happen for this transition to be a success. All the skills and talents we can get will be beneficial.
Q. Who's leading all of this?
A. At different phases of this journey, different individuals have taken a lead role. We saw many volunteers leap at the opportunity to utilize their personal and professional contacts to find GracePointe a new home early on; our Relocation Task Force was entirely volunteer based; many of our partners in the contruction and engineer indstries have helped guide our decision makers. As we move into our new space, each area has a designated lead who will be responsible for developing the vision of each space and managing purchases and hands-on support associated with that vision.
Q. When is your last and first day at each location?
A. Our final day at Greenwood is Memorial Day, May 26. Our first day in our new building will be June 1. We do have storage facilities if needed between the two dates. However, our new landlord has offered to let us get into our new space a little early to prep and organize. Please pray all the logistics of packed, preparing, moving, and setting up go smoothly on our staff and volunteers.
