Adam Long

Pastor

Adam, the basics...

Adam would be the first to tell you that there are only two remarkable things about him - his relationship with Jesus and his amazing wife Kaylan…and he is more than happy with that! Adam and Kaylan love being outdoors, going on adventures, reading, and finding great places to eat. Being locals to the area, they both have a heart to see God continue to move in great ways in Williamsburg where they live with their two dogs, Eve and Potter.

...and the Long version.

Adam has a vast array of hobbies extending from woodworking to retro video games to backpacking in the mountains. He will never turn down a donut or a good cup of hot coffee. He saw his wife Kaylan at church on Sunday morning while going over the announcements and knew then and there that he had to meet this girl. Kaylan is a Behavior Specialist in a local school system and has a heart to see kids succeed in school and life. She loves reading, cooking, and going to any and every farmers market possible! Adam and Kaylan were married in 2015 at the Wren Chapel on the campus of William and Mary. They live in their dream home in Williamsburg with their energetic chocolate labrador Eve and their eternally-hungry beagle Potter. Life is an adventure for these four and they would not have it any other way!
Adam gave his life to Christ in March of 2000 and God has been faithful to continually confirm his call into full-time vocational ministry. After graduating from Seminary God led Adam to serve as Student Pastor at churches in North Carolina and Texas. During that time Kaylan had graduated from Auburn University and started pursuing her Master’s Degree while working in Alabama and Georgia before moving back home to Virginia. In a 2012 move back home to Virginia Adam had the opportunity to serve on staff at Catalyst Church as Student and College Pastor. It was while at Catalyst that Adam not only fell in love with his wife Kaylan, but sensed the call to church planting. It was clearly God's timing as He drew Adam and Kaylan back to the area and into one another's lives in order for their passion for church planting in Williamsburg to grow.
Adam pursued a Church Planting Apprenticeship through the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia (SBCV). It was during this apprenticeship that God began opening doors through Catalyst Church as well as through a newly formed relationship with fellow church planter Bill Dumphy and his family. These things enabled GracePointe Church to begin taking the next steps in serving Williamsburg. The heart of these two families is centered on reaching Williamsburg, James City County, and the campus of William and Mary in a way that the Gospel is central, God is glorified, disciples of Jesus are living in Biblical community, and the name of Jesus is made famous through the planting of other churches.
